Sir John Starkey says:
“Because my apples are picked when they are fully mature, they have soaked up more weeks of autumn sunshine and absorbed more goodness from the Southwell keuper marl clay, which is characteristic of the land where the original Bramley tree still stands.
This results in my apples having that perfect Bramley blush, distinctive texture and extraordinary taste. And all without adding anything artificial.”

“John’s juice is transformative”
“The best apple juice I’ve ever tasted”
“We adore your apple juice… we can’t get enough of it.”
Our juices are made with apples grown only on our farm. We are proud to know the name and provenance of each apple – we don’t use imported fruit, not even from nearby.

This season, Starkey’s will grow over 1000 tons of strawberries, blackberries and raspberries in soft fruit plantations, which are nestled between the ancient oak trees of the former deer park dating back to Robin Hood times, and the apple orchards; providing a wildlife habitat which is a haven for butterflies, moths, woodpeckers and hares.
We also hope to grow around 200 tons of apples, selling some of the fresh fruit and pressing the rest into juice on the farm to make a range of delicious apple juices in bottles and ‘Rip ‘n Sip’ pouches. Other appley products in development are cider, sugar free sweets, crisps and a rebirth of our popular compote.
